Hey guys! I know it's been a while since I last posted an entry. We just got back from a trip where I thought I could squeeze in some writing but turns out, it's not as easy as I thought. Haha! But thanks to jet lag, I can now write about THIS trip... which happened... errrr... 6 months ago. Toink. Don't worry, I'll get a hang of this blogging thing sooner or later and write faster. :)
It's too bad that we were only in Malta for a short 12 hour stop. I feel like I'm trying to describe someone fascinating to another person after only one conversation. I just don’t know enough! What I do know is that it's one of the most picturesque places I have ever seen.
We were in Malta for a few hours as part of the cruise we took. Upon docking, we were greeted by a panoramic view of a fortress so Game of Thrones-y you can almost here the opening theme (dun, dun, dununundun, dununundun...). Haha! We were able to see a bit of Valetta before we headed for Tarxien (to see the megalithic temples) which happens to be a UNESCO World Heritage site. Definitely worth the stop!
After a guided tour of the temples (side note: I've always preferred actual guides to audio guides. In tour groups, I'm that annoying classmate who's always closest to the teacher, asking questions outside of the lesson plan so I can "learn more". Hahaha!), we were back in the coach to Marsaxlokk, this pretty little fishing village where we had a sumptuous seafood lunch. The lazy vibe of the town won us over and we stayed behind for a few more hours to walk around. We just took a cab back (a very FAST one too, if I may add. Apparently, they're not very good drivers haha!) to the boat.
Anyway, here are more photos! I wish I could tell you more about Malta, but we barely scratched the surface. I'll have to spend a few more days there to really take in the full flavour of the city. I heard though, that it's one of the safer cities to visit in Europe these days. So if you're planning a trip, you might want to stop over Malta and tell us what we missed out on! :)
